Do we need to wear a mask?


Yes!  All visitors to the Cape May County Zoo shall be required to wear a mask or other appropriate face covering of the mouth and nose and to keep such face covering in place during the duration of their visit to the Zoo. Excepted from this directive, per guidance issued by the United States Centers for Disease Control, are children under the age of three and persons with a demonstrable inability to wear such a face covering for medical reasons.
Do we need to practice social distancing?
Yes! Please keep your group a safe 6 feet away from the groups surrounding you for the safety of others and our animals, and DO NOT VISIT if you are feeling unwell.

Do we need a reservation?
No!  Our Free Zoo is on a first come, first serve basis with each individual entering the Zoo being counted automatically.  Our staff will be monitoring our limited capacity and groups will be asked to step aside and wait for available entrance as visitors leave the Zoo.

How much is daily admission?


Admission to The Cape May County Park & Zoo is completely FREE. Your donations keep us free.


Is there a charge for parking?


Parking is FREE for personal vehicles and is available on a first-come-first-serve basis. We charge only for buses. Reserve a bus permit here.


What are your hours for admission?

Summer Zoo Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (March 8, 2019 – October 31, 2019)


Winter Zoo Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (November 1, 2019 - March 5, 2020)

Are you open today?


The Zoo is open EVERY DAY but Christmas!  Some holidays may have early closings (2:30 pm in the Winter).  Please view our home page announcements for any weather related or special event closings.


Park Hours: 7:00 a.m. to dusk year-round.


The Cape May County Park & Zoo are open every day, except Christmas Day.

I’m coming with a group, can I reserve a picnic pavilion?


Yes, but reserve it early because they fill quickly. Click here for Pavilion Rentals.

Can I go on a private tour of the Zoo?


Yes, it’s easy to set up, and is very reasonable.  Click here to reserve a Tours.


Are motorized wheel chairs available for rent?


Yes, strollers, wheelchairs, and motorized scooters rentals are available at the Gift Shop. For more information on rentals and to make a reservation ahead of your visit, please call the Gift Shop at 609-465-0971.


Can we bring our own motorized wheel chairs?


Yes, Zoo guests may bring their own motorized wheelchairs.

Do you rent strollers and/or wagons?


Strollers and wagons are available to rent while enjoying The Cape May County Park & Zoo. They are available at the Gift Shop. 609-465-0971

Yes, Zoo guests may bring their own strollers and wagons.

What if the weather is bad, can we get a refund or reschedule our bus permit or pavilion fee?


No, sorry, the County of Cape May has a no refund policy, but we can help you reschedule within the same calendar year.

Do you have an ATM?


Yes, there is one ATM available at The Cape May County Park & Zoo which is located inside of our gift shop near the entrance of the Zoo.

Do you accept credit cards or checks?


We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and Traveler’s checks for everything here. Including donations.


Can we bring outside food and beverages? Can we bring coolers and bags?


Food is permitted anywhere in the Park - outside of the Zoo. However no food is allowed to be brought into the Zoo, but non-alcoholic beverages can be carried in. Baby food and bottles are allowed, just not snacks. Coolers and bags are allowed, however alcohol is strictly prohibited anywhere in the Park or Zoo. Can we smoke in the zoo?


The Cape May County Zoo is smoke and tobacco free.


Are pets allowed at The Cape May County Park & Zoo?


Pets are not allowed on Park & Zoo grounds, only service animals.


Do you allow professional photo or video shoots at the Zoo?
